This policy-paper is a combination of the qualitative analysis of interviews with stakeholders in 2004-2005 with a critical review and analysis of available literature on human trafficking, especially of women and children in Sub-Saharan Africa. The target locations for this study included Kano State in the Northern Zone, Ebonyi, Rivers, Cross River, Enugu and Imo States in the South Eastern Zone and the States of Oyo, Edo, Lagos and Ogun in the South Western Zone. These States share international borders with Republics of Benin and Togo on the West, Cameroon and Gabon on the East and South, and Niger on the North.

Abstract:'This paper will argue that the view that ‘boys are not sexually exploited’ is unfortunately very common amongst many professionals working with vulnerable young men. It will look at some of the reasons for this and why it is essential for things to change in the future, in order to protect some of our most vulnerable young men under the age of 18 from further sexual abuse. This includes looking at why young men are not seen as at risk, the effect of wider societal attitudes to sex, the changing prostitution street scene, and the impact of the internet and mobile phones. Lastly, this paper looks at the effects of past sexual abuse on young men and the vulnerability of young men who are looked after.'

Rambho was enslaved weaving carpets when he was just ten years old. When he made a mistake he was beaten. When his fingers bled from overwork, the slave owners would dip them in fuel and light a match to his fingertips. "Freedom and Beyond" traces the story of Rambho and other child slaves from their remote Indian villages to the carpet looms and ultimately to freedom. "Freedom and Beyond" explores what it takes to rescue child slaves, help them take back their lives, and how slavery can be stopped at its very source. Viewers get a behind the scenes look as activists from Bal Vikas Ashram risk everything to free children and help create a sustainable future for them in their home villages.

Of the many ramifications that a 20 -year-long war can cause, the film “Invisible Children: Rough Cut” highlights what the community refers to as “NIGHT COMMUTERS.” We watch thousands of children “commute” out of fear, from their villages to nearby towns each night in order to avoid the LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army) abductions. They sleep in public places, vulnerable, and without supervision.

This report examines the methods of trafficking and transit points used to transit girls through Nepal and India. It attempts to discuss the gaps in information about the trafficking and the trading in girls once they have crossed into India. The report also analyzes the treatment offered to victims and tries to point out the reasons why returned victims of trafficking are vulnerable to being re-trafficked or returning to brothels of their own volition.
